Club Lectures are open to Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club members and non-members, with the option of staying on for a reception, with or without wine. Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club membership is £15 (£18 joint) per calendar year [Join]

Members may book their lecture tickets at a discounted rate and have exclusive booking for excursions.

The Annual Dinner is open to members and members’ guests.

Booking for all events is essential to ensure planning for room capacities, reception orders etc. Payment can be made at the time of reservation, or in advance of the event (preferably within 48 hours). If paying cash on the evening you still need to reserve your booking.

There are two free Public Events in 2026, the joint lecture with the University of Edinburgh English Department and the online Colloquium. Booking is still essential and donations welcome.

Tickets are no-longer sent via post. An email confirmation of your booking will be issued once your payment is received.

The venue information will be included with your Booking Confirmation (after payment received).

The DRESS CODE for Club Lectures is semi-formal (ie. jacket and tie for men); and black tie for the Annual Dinner.

There is no strict dress-code for Public Lectures or Excursions.
